MY WATER CONTRACT

1. BENEFITS:

1. New water meter technology to save on future water accounts.
2. One payment for water and past debt.

2. HOW THE NEW METER WORKS:

 
1. A run up counter starts from zero of every new month, at the end the month the actual amount consumed is Locked in as the closing
    balance for the period and then the meter restarts from zero for the new month.       
2. The locked in amount is then held in memory for 24 months.
 

3. HOW TO READ THE METER:

Consumers visit the meter station with Key in hand.
1. Any time during the current month to check the usage so far. (Detect leaks early)

2. At the end of the month view the actual amount consumed.
 
3. Backtrack 24 months closing balances.
 
Note: Only the locked in amounts can be used for debt control and this amount can never be changed or seen differently.

4. ACCOUNT PROTECTION SOFTWARE:

Step 1:  Consumers read the meter at the start of every new month for the previous months Closing Balance.

Step 2. Calculate the amount to pay.

Visit  www.mywater.co.za  and follow the WATER RATES link to see the amount to pay. Use the meter serial number as reference.

5. PENALTY FOR INCORRECT READINGS:

The municipalities will still read the meters from time to time to Audit for under or over recovery and in the event of a short payments, a Audit Fee of R200.00 will automatically be added to the past debt.

6. PAYMENTS:

Add the installment Plan and Water to the Penalty (if applicable) then make one payment either on line or cash deposit at
any ATM using the municipal account number as reference.
 
 

7. PROOF OF PAYMENT:

Retain the proof of payment slip or visit the municipalities web site from time to time for account status.
 

8. REWARDS:

"Proof of Residents" issued by mywater and " Letter of Good standing" available from the municipality.
